Time For Change in America?

I think America is ready to punish those who are all about negative campaigning.  Even as a staunch Republican, I am turned off by the start of negative comments and attitude coming from McCain toward Obama.  In order for our country to start our next phase, we need hope and cooperation, not more stridency and negativity.  So lets "hope" that both parties can compete on who can be the most positive and provide the best picture of our next four years, and not who will be the worst for the next four years.  IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE. God Bless America.

I have followed McCain's pol career for a long time & while I think he can be MR TEMPER & bi*chy at times, overall I see a good honest man who follows his heart & isn't afraid to mix it up within his own party(he was amazing with campaign finance reform, which Obama now benefits from) to get the job done.  That said, what he's doing with Obama is beneath him. ~Mary

Lisa - the important thing is to vote.  The only wasted vote is the one not taken :o)

Mary - agreed that McCain has a lot going for him, but he needs to stick to what makes him unique, and not try and conform to the conservative far right.  All we can hope for is to stay true to our ideals and values.

I couldn't agree more Ken....well said. I sometimes wish they would outlaw campaigning & ads and just go on the debate system alone. I love McCain, and I, too, worry he will give in to the far right. What drew me to him in the first place was the fact that, he actually voted for what he believed was good for our country...not what his party wanted him to vote for. He would vote with the Democrats if need be and was/is respected on both sides of the isle. If he changes, I'll be so discouraged.

The political grand slamming is definitely off putting. When someone degenerates to "he said, she said" toss-ups, you can't help feeling your dealing with school children. Having said that , I don't want a whiney finger pointing child running this country. Hopefully the candidates in question can stand on their own integrity and stop the theatrics. (Hugs) Indigo

Linda and Indy, thanks for visiting.  I was reading in the paper this morning that Obama has the feminine thing going for him.  He can be conciliatory and go for working together.  If Hillary gets to soft, it will backfire on her.  As the article concluded, the womans movement has made it possible for a man to be more feminine :o)
